Kerriel Bailey

Kerriel Bailey earned her J.D. Degree from Regent University School of Law where she received the "Most Inspirational Graduate" award.  Ms. Bailey's undergraduate studies include graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from California State University Fullerton.  She also holds an Associate of Arts degree in Philosophy from Cerritos College where she graduated with Highest Honors.

Ms. Bailey is licensed to practice law in all courts in Virginia, Washington DC, and in the United States Bankruptcy Court Eastern District of Virginia.

In Summer 2009, Attorney Bailey taught Legal Advocacy at Handong International Law School in Pohang, South Korea.

In addition to working for various private civil and criminal law practices, Ms. Bailey clerked for Jay Sekulow's American Center for Law & Justice where she conducted legal research on issues such as taxpayer standing, free speech, RLUIPA, religious freedom, Equal Access, Supreme Court nominees, amicus briefs, certiorari petitions, legislative research, Freedom of Choice Act, United Nations, Small Business Administration, parental rights, forced religious conversions in foreign countries, and many others.  Ms. Bailey assisted in drafting and editing of petitions for writ of certiorari, and amicus briefs, and merit briefs for the Supreme Court of the United States.

Ms. Bailey held a Judicial Internship with the Honorable Judge Dewey Lawes Falcone of the Los Angeles County Superior Court.  During her one and a half years there, she was exposed to every imaginable type of criminal case including homicide, manslaughter, rape, child molestation and abuse, robbery, gang violence, drunk driving offenses, assault and battery, and drug cases.

Prior to pursuing her legal career, Attorney Kerriel Bailey spent nearly a dozen years as a non-uniformed employee of the California Highway Patrol where she handled traffic accident reports, stolen and recovered vehicles, and subpoenas.

Attorney Bailey belongs to numerous professional organizations including: the Virginia Bar Association, American Bar Association, Virginia Trial Lawyer's Association, Virginia Women Attorney's Association, and the Christian Legal Society.

In her spare time, Ms. Bailey enjoys writing a monthly article for a Christian women's magazine (www.myfrienddebbie.com), serving as an editor for the ABA Solo Newsletter, blogging (www.kerrielbailey.blogspot.com) spending time with her family, and helping to empower immigrants by teaching them English.
